Used for carrying alternating current from one area to another, AC power cords are are covered by insulation and a jacket and act as a conducting medium, usually copper. Having 2, 3, or 4 conductors, there are various types of power plugs. Usually the choices for male end types can be NEMA types, hardwired stripped types, JIS, AS, BS types etc.
