known as an SPDT switch, a changeover switch is a common type of switch
that can be positioned in two closed states. It provides two distinct
situations, the making of one contact and breaking the other. A
changeover switch provides two distinct events, the making of one
contact and the breaking of the other. The switch consists of three pins: the common (C) pin, the normally closed (NC) pin, connected to the common pin when the switch is not pressed, and the normally open (NO) pin, connected to the common pin when the switch is pressed.
These switches are available in one pole, two pole, three pole and four pole configurations.
