Types of Wires
There are different types of insulated wires available in the market for use in different application. These include:
Silicon rubber insulated wires: These are electrical wires that are coated with silicon rubber. The wires are used in a number of electronic equipments because they have high temperature resistance and low temperature flexibility. The wires have a heat resistance up to 180°C. These wires are available in various voltage rating ranges from 600, 1500, 3300 to 6600 Volts.
Composite Multi-Core Wires are also available in the market and are used in areas where excellent electrical properties and high resistance to heat is required.
Applications
These wires find applications in:
- Automobile components
- Electric appliances
- Office equipment
- Heavy electrical equipment
- Nuclear power plants
- Industrial machinery
Application
PVC insulated wires find application in:
- Communications instruments
- Audio equipment
- Electronic appliances
- Automobile components
- Solid wires
- Stranded wires
- Braided wires
Thermoplastic insulated wires: These wires are commonly used wires that are coated with thermoplastic resin such as polystyrene or polyethylene. These insulated wires become soft when heated and then harden again, when cooled. These wires are used in numerous applications in both residential and industrial projects.
Galvanized wires: These wires are steel and iron wires that rare coated with zinc as a protective layer. These wires are manufactured by drawing the wire and then treating it with heat and actual galvanization. The galvanization is done by dipping these metal wires in melted zinc. Galvanized wires are used in numerous applications.
Variants
Different variants of galvanized wires are available for use in numerous applications. These include:
- Hot dipped galvanized wire
- Wax coated galvanized wire
- Coil form galvanized wire
- Electro galvanized wire
- Color coated galvanized wire
- Annealed galvanized wire
