Junction Boxes

A junction box is a commonly used box for connecting together wires and cables. These boxes find applications in residential and commercial buildings among other applications. It is a box containing electrical junctions, and concealing them from sight, and also to prevent them from tampering.


These junction boxes can also be used for connecting additional sockets to circuits, add lighting points, extend circuits. They are hence a way of getting power from an already existing source and taking it somewhere else.

Materials of Construction
Junction boxes can be made from either metal or plastic. The box may or may not have terminals for joining wires. These boxes are available in various sizes depending on the end use. Junction boxes must be located and installed in such a way that they're accessible at a later stage. These junction boxes should not be buried under plaster.
